The love of technology and cryptocurrencies go hand in hand. One such tech enthusiast, James Howells, who has a knack for robotics and a flare for blockchain, is trying to combine his two passions. Howells recently introduced the world with its 75-thousand-dollar robot dog project. However, the dog in question is not an ordinary machine.

The main function of the dog is to sniff out the lost Bitcoin digital wallet addresses online that are valued at around 176 million USD today. The robot dog is programmed to search for a long-lost hard drive that contains around 8000 Bitcoins that Howells lost a few years ago. Now he is on a mission to locate his hard drive once again and reclaim his lost treasure.

When Bitcoin was first introduced, a lot of people did not think much of it. Some people even use it to make purchases like pizza or fast food. In the same manner, Howells also ditched his hard drive that contained around 8000 Bitcoins, according to his interview in Insider. He has since watched the cryptocurrency market turn into a $3 trillion business and seems adamant about getting it back.

A story that seems nothing short of a drama serial has been making rounds on social media for quite some time. Howells has told media that he purchased two Spot dogs prepared by Boston Dynamics. The dogs were available for $74,500 per unit last year. Howells has also used his robotic dog dynamo for scanning real estate properties, herding cattle, and strolling in public parks on the roads of Singapore while maintaining social distance.

Howells Seeks Permission from the City Council

It seems that Howells intends to leave no stones unturned to get back his Bitcoin hard drive. Media outlets have reported that the reluctant searcher has applied to the City Council to allow him access to the City junkyard. However, the City Council has refused and rejected his applications thus far. The state administrator suggests that his application poses an ecological threat.

During a later remark, one of the City Council members commented that Howells could not present any viable reason that could grant access to the junk. Meanwhile, Howells has told media that his robot dogs will act as roving CCTV cameras that will help him retrieve stolen hard disks. He has named his dogs Satoshi and Hal after the founder of Bitcoin and the first receiver of Bitcoin Hal Finney.
