Axie Infinity is a trading and battling gaming platform based on NFTs. The project recently announced its launch of the Ronin blockchain with a dedicated native token called RON. Ronin ecosystem plans to emulate an EVM-compatible sidechain that will serve as the next phase for the Axie Infinity franchise.
The developers of the project have recently taken to Twitter for sharing the official launch date with the stakeholders. The update posted by Ronin handle on Twitter claims that the management has decided the final launch date for the pilot phase. However, the tweet also claimed that there are still some variable factors that can reflect on the release date with minor changes.
Co-founder and development head Jeffery Zirlin recently started a RON airdrop campaign within the GameFi community. He claimed that the public debut of the Ronin blockchain is inching closer every day and he added that winners of the airdrop will be revealed adjacent to the event.
The tweet shared by the Ronin network has already registered thousands of likes from the gaming community on social media. Furthermore, the Katana staking pool is another DeFi project on the Ronin network that would allow the investors to generate a hefty amount of yield returns and add to the liquidity of the ecosystem.
Trung Nguyen is the co-founder of Sky Mavis and CEO of Axie Infinity. Sky Mavis is the blockchain project that hosts Axie Infinity. He recently published a whitepaper about the Ronin network to shed some light on the scaling, innovation, and development opportunities of the new blockchain project.
He pointed out in a recent interview that the developers are currently working on creating more scalability solutions for the Ronin project. He pointed out that zKSyncs is one of the projects that look promising but it can take some time before it is ready for the mainnet launch. He called Ronin as a positive step towards cementing the ground for NFT and blockchain gaming. In October 2021, Axie Infinity bagged $152 million in a Series C funding round.
